Exh religion oddities and disbelief

The Rajneeshpuram Community of Oregon (1980s) was a cool small community that had some far out ideas .

Satan is the most evil living being of all time. In Christian tradition, Judas isn’t far off

My thoughts on the Satanic Panic can be found here

I am against actual Satanism and actual Satan worship. Actual Satanism and actual Satan worship should be the only ‘religion’ and ‘religious practice’ which should be banned

I am cautiously provisionally ok with the ‘Satanic’ Temple (as long as they aren’t really Satan worshippers) . The ‘Satanic’ Temple is good because they rightfully teach students benevolence, empathy, critical thinking, problem-solving and creative expression, all of which are useful tools to improve people and society

“Atheism turns out to be too simple. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning…” C.S. Lewis

“Reality, in fact, is usually something you could not have guessed. That is one of the reasons I believe Abrahamiac Judeo Christian spectrum religions. It is a religion (spectrum) you could not have guessed. If it offered us just the kind of universe we had always expected, I should feel we were making it up. But, in fact, it is not the sort of thing anyone would have made up. It has just that queer twist about it that real things have. So let us leave behind all these boys’ philosophies–these over simple answers. The problem is not simple and the answer is not going to be simple either.”  C.S. Lewis

“ A young man who wishes to remain a sound atheist cannot be too careful of his reading.”  C.S. Lewis, Surprised by Joy

“ My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust?”  C.S. Lewis

“ Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”  C.S. Lewis

“It was when I was happiest that I longed most…The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing…to find the place where all the beauty came from.”  C.S. Lewis, Till We Have Faces

“I now believe there is a God...I now think it [the evidence] does point to a creative Intelligence almost entirely because of the DNA investigations. What I think the DNA material has done is that it has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which which are needed to produce life, that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinarily diverse elements to work together.”  Anthony Flew

“Science spotlights three dimensions of nature that point to God. The first is the fact that nature obeys laws. The second is the dimension of life, of intelligently organized and purpose-driven beings, which arose from matter. The third is the very existence of nature. But it is not science alone that guided me. I have also been helped by a renewed study of the classical philosophical arguments.”   Antony Flew, There Is a God: How the World's Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind

“we have all the evidence we need in our immediate experience and that only a deliberate refusal to “look” is responsible for atheism of any variety.”   Antony Flew, There Is a God: How the World's Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind

“Generations of Humeans have… been misled into offering analyses of causation and of natural law that have been far too weak because they had no basis for accepting the existence of either cause and effect or natural laws… Hume’s scepticism about cause and effect and his agnosticism about the external world are of course jettisoned the moment he leaves his study.”  Anthony Flew

“No mainstream philosopher has developed the kind of systematic, comprehensive, original, and influential exposition of atheism that is to be found in Antony Flew’s fifty years of antitheological writings.”  Antony Flew
